Demonstrators in Serbia are making many constructive demands, but it is important that the protests do not turn into violence as happened in Kyiv, stated director Emir Kusturica.

“For five months now, we have had protests, and I think these protests will continue. Their idea is a little anarchic, a little constructive, because they want society to be better and corruption less. They are doing good things for our conscience, and conscience is the future… The most important thing is that these protests do not become violent, as happened in Kyiv,” Kusturica said on the sidelines of the forum “Eurasia – Territory of Traditional Values.”

He simultaneously added that he himself does not attend these protests.

“I am a man who writes, speaks, and makes films. My social role is to create a connection between different groups in our Serbian society,” he emphasized.
