Boston defeated Denver in an NBA league game after a dramatic finish in which the Celtics remained focused, preventing a comeback – 110:103 (32:20, 29:28, 22:29, 27:26).
Nikola Jokić took a serious beating, finishing the game with bloody hands, bruises, and scratches, but still recorded a double-double performance: 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists.
The Boston Celtics secured a home victory over Denver Nuggets, winning 110:103 in an NBA matchup. Serbian basketball star Nikola Jokić played 39 minutes, scoring 20 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and dishing out 9 assists.
The reigning NBA champions led throughout the game, at one point building a 20-point advantage.
It was a shocking start to the game in Boston, as Nikola Jokić twisted his ankle in the very first minute and began limping. This impacted both his play and the game’s outcome. Though he opened the match with a three-pointer, the Serbian center couldn’t carry the weight of battling the Celtics alone, and when he needed support the most, it was nowhere to be found.
He fought hard, grabbed rebounds, and nearly had a double-double in just 24 minutes (11 points, 8 rebounds), but he also ended up with a bloody hand. It seems someone on Boston’s team might have inadvertently given him a new tattoo, as a deep scratch on his left triceps left him bleeding heavily. The game had to be stopped because Jokić couldn’t continue, and despite his pleas for more protection from the referees, he had to keep fighting alone, even as one of the best players in the world.
Starting the second quarter from the bench, Jokić watched as Denver suffered a collapse—Boston extended their lead to 20 points, leaving the Nuggets completely on their knees. The Serbian star was forced to return to the court earlier than expected, as the situation for the Nuggets had become catastrophic.
The NBA champions had solid statistics overall, especially from three-point range (10/21), while Denver struggled, barely surpassing 20% (4/18).

In the end, Boston secured a 13-point victory, leaving Denver’s head coach, Mike Malone, with the challenge of rebuilding his team and rallying them around a battered Jokić.

Jokić Brutalized, Bleeding
Nikola Jokić took a beating—he finished the game bleeding, showcasing the physical toll he endured. It was clear he was struggling to move freely after the hits he sustained.
Jokić twisted his ankle on a landing early in the game, immediately limping, causing concern that it could be a serious injury. However, he pushed through the pain, managing to drain a three-pointer shortly after.
For Denver, the best performer was Jamal Murray with 26 points, while Christian Braun contributed 24.
On Boston’s side, the top scorer was Jaylen Brown with 22 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Al Horford added 19 points, while Derrick White scored 17.
