Lebanese Hezbollah announced today that it launched a drone and rocket attack on military bases in Tel Aviv and southern Israel, according to the French Press Agency.

Describing it as a complex operation, the pro-Iranian organization stated that it fired “salvos of rockets and launched swarms of drones” at a military base in Tel Aviv.

A video showed a rocket hitting a residential building in Haifa.

In a separate statement, it was added that drones with explosives were launched at a naval base in Ashdod, in southern Israel.

Israeli media reported that sirens went off in central Israel after long-range rockets were fired from Lebanon, adding that the Israeli military is verifying the details.

It was later reported that around ten rockets were fired from Lebanon at central Israel, and several were intercepted. No reports of possible injuries were immediately available.

Earlier, in response to Hezbollah’s claim that a naval base in Ashdod was targeted by drones at 9:00 AM, it was reported that no drone warning sirens had been heard at that time either near the border with Lebanon in the north or near Ashdod, and the military was unaware of the incident.

Sirens were heard in Haifa and northern cities of Israel. Prior to that, sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and surrounding cities and settlements.
