Artist and architect Andrej Josifovski, better known as Pijanista (The Pianist), painted a black crepe on the pavement of Republic Square in Belgrade, in the dimensions of the canopy at Novi Sad Railway Station that collapsed on November 1, killing 15 people.

As he announced on the social network Instagram “Flor Republike”, a black crepe, in the dimensions of the fallen canopy 4800/480cm, was painted with black tempera on stone. Josifovski thanked passersby on Instagram for their help and for the photos.

The canopy at the entrance to Novi Sad Railway Station collapsed on November 1, killing 14 people, while the 15th victim succumbed to their injuries in hospital later.

Due to the tragedy in Novi Sad, 12 people were temporarily detained, while one suspect is on the run. Among those arrested are the resigned Minister of Construction, Goran Vesić, his assistant Anita Dimovski, the director of Infrastructure of Serbian Railways Jelena Tanasković, and her predecessor in that position Nebojša Šurlan.
