Students participating in the blockade of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts released a disturbing video on social media in which the head of security, allegedly hired by the faculty administration, is heard insulting one of the students. In a statement they issued, the students claimed that this individual had repeatedly provoked, threatened, and intimidated students engaged in a peaceful blockade, including shouting in a student’s face with the threat: “I’ll rip your head off!”

The students, who have been blockading the Faculty of Contemporary Arts for over four months, published the video on their official social media profiles. In the footage, a man identified by the students as the head of security approaches and insults a student who stands calmly and silently.

The man in the black jacket, who repeatedly cursed, got in the student’s face and said he would “rip his head off.”

“…I’ll rip your head off. I don’t give a f***…,” he said.

Another student, who was recording the incident the entire time, then asked the man why he threatened his friend.

“Why? What did he do? He was talking to you normally,” said the student holding the phone.

“I don’t give a f***… Take your pictures, take as many as you want, I don’t give a f***…,” the man in the black jacket responded in a raised voice.

In their statement, the students provided more details about the situation that occurred during their peaceful blockade. They stated that the man who insulted and threatened them is the head of the security team from the agency “Smart P&S d.o.o.,” hired by the faculty administration, and that he had repeatedly provoked, threatened, and intimidated the students.

Their full statement reads:

“Brutality instead of security: Head of security attacks students in FSU blockade.
On April 7, 2025, students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts who are peacefully carrying out a blockade were subjected to direct physical and verbal assault by Saša Šarenac – head of the security team from the agency Smart P&S d.o.o., hired by the faculty administration.

Instead of ensuring the safety of all students, Šarenac repeatedly provoked, threatened, and intimidated the students in the blockade with statements such as: ‘You won’t be sleeping,’ or threats like, ‘Try it and you’ll see what happens.’

The culmination of his violent behavior occurred when he physically pushed a female student who was trying to prevent an exam from taking place. He then got in the face of a male student who tried to verbally defend her and threatened him with, ‘I’ll rip your head off!’

We emphasize that our colleague spoke to him calmly and respectfully, as we have advocated for dialogue and strongly condemned any form of violence since the beginning of the blockade. We repeat: our blockade is nonviolent! From the start, students have called for a peaceful resolution of the issue. However, we are now facing direct attacks from those who are supposed to protect us.

We demand an immediate response from the faculty administration, as well as accountability from the agency Smart P&S d.o.o. for the unprofessional, dangerous, and potentially criminal behavior of their employee. We call on the public, the media, NGOs, and relevant institutions to get involved and protect the basic rights of students to safety, freedom of speech, and the right to protest.

This is not an isolated incident. This is a systemic problem,” the students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in blockade stated.
