The court found Milan Radoičić responsible for the murder of Oliver Ivanović, while four accused were sentenced to over 22 years in prison. The Basic Court states that the former deputy leader of the Serb List led an organized criminal group that organized the murder on January 16, 2018, in North Mitrovica and took actions to destroy evidence to obstruct the investigation. The group had a clear structure, criminal and political influence, operated with the support of the state of Serbia, and blackmailed political rivals, including Ivanović, who refused to submit to their demands.
The Basic Court in Pristina compiled a complete written verdict against Nedeljko Spasojević, Marko Rošić, Dragiša Marković, and Žarko Jovanović, accused of the murder of Serbian politician Oliver Ivanović, who were jointly sentenced to over 22 years in prison on June 28, 2024, reports “Zakletva za pravdu,” transmitted by KoSSev.
The verdict, which “Zakletva za pravdu” had access to and which was signed by the presiding judge Valon Kurtaj, states that the accused were part of an organized criminal group that had been operating for a long time in the north of Kosovo, led by Milan Radoičić and Zvonko Veselinović, who are wanted by the judicial authorities in Kosovo. Radoičić is also accused in the case of the terrorist attack in Banjska.
“Based on these proven facts, the existence of this organized criminal group has been proven; that it had an organizational structure headed by Milan Radoičić; and that this criminal group, in addition to control in the criminal sphere, also had control in political life. Involvement in party structures… and preventing any political rivalry, even to the murder of the now deceased I., since he did not submit to the demands of this group to also politically join this group and withdraw from the election campaign as a unique party, which is a demand of the state structures of Serbia,” the verdict states.
It further states that this group organized not only the murder of politician Oliver Ivanović but also the destruction of evidence to sabotage the investigations of the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo.
