The Serbian Mathematical Society (DMS) announced today that a four-member team of high school students from Serbia won two gold and two bronze medals at the International Cyber Security Olympiad in Singapore, competing against more than 130 contestants from 30 countries worldwide.
Gold medals were won by Jovan Jovanović, a third-year student at the Technical School in Čačak, and Andrej Premović, a fourth-year student at the Raška Gymnasium. Bronze medals were awarded to Jovan Garić, a fourth-year student at the Kruševac Gymnasium, and Vladan Pavićević, a second-year student at the “Veljko Petrović” Gymnasium in Sombor.
The team was selected by a commission of the Serbian Mathematical Society, based on a selection competition in which the best high school students in Serbia in that field participated.
The Serbian national team was led by Marko Savić from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Vladimir Milovanović from the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, University of Kragujevac, and the president of DMS, Miroslav Marić.
Participation in this prestigious international competition was made possible by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of Serbia, the statement added.
