Boban Marjanović is playing for Fenerbahçe and the Zhejiang Lions in China this season, but he still found time to join Adam Sandler in the sequel to the famous 1996 film.
As a special surprise for fans, actor Adam Sandler and original cast members Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald premiered the trailer for “Happy Gilmore 2” at the Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event in Los Angeles.
However, the biggest surprise, at least for Serbs and fans of Boban Marjanović, is the fact that the Serbian basketball giant from Boljevac has joined the cast.
Marjanović has already tried his hand in Hollywood, having also starred with Sandler in the popular Netflix production “Hustle,” and viewers had the opportunity to see him fighting Keanu Reeves in the now-famous “John Wick” film series.
“Happy Gilmore 2” is a continuation of Sandler’s famous 1996 film. The celebrated comedian reprises his lead role, bringing to life a failed hockey player who discovered a talent for golf.
What role Marjanović has been given is not yet known.
Along with Sandler, Bowen, and McDonald, the cast also includes Blake Clark and Ben Stiller from the first film, as well as newcomers Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio and Sandler’s daughters Sunny and Sadie. Some professional golfers have also joined, including John Daly, Paige Spiranac, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, and Will Zalatoris.
