The Higher Court in Novi Sad has extended by another 30 days the detention of suspects in the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1st, when 15 people died and two were seriously injured.

The motion for extension was filed against all ten suspects, who were previously ordered into custody by the court last month.

Recently, an indictment was also filed against 13 individuals.

In addition to these ten, two other suspects are under house arrest, one of whom is the former acting director general of “Infrastructure Railways of Serbia”, Jelena Tanasković.

Former Minister of Construction Goran Vesić is defending himself from freedom, as the court released him from custody after several days, accepting his lawyer’s appeal.

The decision on the house arrest of the two suspects will be made for a period of three months.
