Students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad, gathered in the “Memristor” team, won third place at the European Robotics Championship “Eurobot 2026”.
32 teams from 15 countries of the world participated in the competition.
The competition was held from May 13 to 16 in the French city of La Roche-sur-Yon, and Serbia was represented by three teams from the FTN – “Memristor”, “µ”, and “Mini µ”. In addition to European teams, teams from Canada, Algeria, and Taiwan also participated in the championship, giving this year’s competition additional international weight.
The “Memristor” team achieved this great success after an extremely demanding competition, in which autonomous mobile robots performed complex tasks inspired by this year’s theme “Winter is Coming” during 100-second matches.
The robots symbolically “prepared supplies for winter”, collecting and transporting elements on the field, and victory went to the teams whose robots realized the specified actions most precisely and efficiently.
After five rounds of the group stage, the Serbian teams ranked very high – “Memristor” was fifth, “µ” sixth, and “Mini µ” twelfth. In the elimination phase of the competition, the “Memristor” team continued a series of excellent performances and reached the bronze medal, placing Serbia and the Faculty of Technical Sciences among the most successful European teams in the field of robotics.
First place was won by the “Hyperion Robotics” team from Greece, while second place went to the “DIT Robotics” team from Taiwan.
The “Memristor” team consists of students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences from the Department of Computing and Control, the Chair of Electronics, the Chair of Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation, as well as the Chair of Electrical Measurements. Their success represents the result of knowledge, engineering creativity, teamwork, and several months of intensive development of robotic systems.
