Aleksandar Vučić, the president of Serbia, announced that by Đurđevdan (May 6) or a few days later, as he added, it will be roughly known when the new elections will take place.
–Let them go however they want. There is no difference between them anyway. I believe that by Đurđevdan we will know approximately when the elections will be, so they will have the opportunity to win. Now they have a big wave from Hungary, they’ve gone somewhat quiet about Bulgaria and Slovenia, they have a wave and a huge opportunity, everything is going well for them, maybe the people want them. If that is so, we will congratulate them. But then get ready, there will be no new railways and roads, they will only be closing them, just like before – Vučić said, answering a journalist’s question after the opening of the new bridge in Tomaševac.
Vučić responded this way to a request to comment on the claims of Radomir Lazović (ZLF) “that they will go to the elections only if they find some method to remove the authorities in Serbia,” but also on the conflicts within the opposition that were “seen” on Sunday evening in the show Utisak nedelje.
Guests on the show Utisak nedelje were Peđa Mitrović (SSP), Srđan Milivojević (DS), and Boris Tadić (SDS), the former president of Serbia.
During the show, two ideas were heard regarding a joint election run by part of the opposition and the Student Movement, i.e., a student list. According to one proposal by Miroslav Aleksić (NPS), the student list would also include places for opposition representatives who would commit to not participating in the executive branch after the election and victory—meaning they would be members of parliament, not ministers. According to the second, mentioned by Milivojević, opposition representatives would not be on the student list, but could later participate in the executive branch.
