A day after Andrej Stojaković, another great hope of Serbian basketball qualified with her university for the final tournament of the best American student teams.
The Serbian national team player and gold medal winner at the European Championship, Anđela Dugalić, with her UCLA defeated the great rival Duke today 70:58 and will fight next weekend for the All-American title in Phoenix.
Anđela was great even though she started the match from the bench, scoring 15 points with an excellent shooting percentage (13-7), adding to that another 6 rebounds and 4 assists, and alongside Lauren Betts (23p, 10reb) was the heroine of the team from California.
UCLA started the match poorly, losing, and then Dugalić came off the bench and turned the tide of the encounter, controlled the rebounding and defense, scored when it mattered most, and distributed several passes.
Anđela was born in America, in a suburb of Chicago (Des Plaines) in a family of Serbian immigrants, but from an early age she expressed a desire to wear the jersey of the Serbian national team, which was followed by a call from coach Marina Maljković and gold at the 2021 European Championship.

The Serbian Times editorial office congratulates Anđela Dugalić and Andrej Stojaković on qualifying for the Final Four and wishes them to celebrate the NCAA league titles next weekend!
