Novak Đoković was a source of support for Serbia’s water polo players on their way to winning European gold, and now the “Dolphins” are returning the favor via Sportal in his fight for a 25th Grand Slam trophy.
In the same way, through our portal, Đoković reached out to the water polo players from Melbourne on January 17. At that time, he had just begun his campaign at the Australian Open, while the “Dolphins” were preparing for the first of two clashes with Hungary at the continental tournament.
Dušan Mandić, Nikola Jakšić, Sava Ranđelović, Viktor and Strahinja Rašović later became European champions, and now, on behalf of the entire Serbian national water polo team, they have repaid the support and sent video messages to our greatest athlete ever, who will play the Australian Open semifinal on Friday morning. The water polo players are the reigning European and Olympic champions, Novak Đoković is the greatest ever in tennis, and it is a true pleasure to see the relationship between the best Serbian team and the most successful athlete.
As he usually does, Dušan Mandić sent Đoković a short and powerful message:
Building on his words, captain Jakšić added:
“Nole, we’re with you. We know you’ll be the best, just as you’ve been countless times before, and know that whatever happens, you are the greatest ever for us. We’re cheering, we’re with you with all our hearts and we don’t doubt that everything will turn out well. Stay strong and good luck.”
The younger of the Rašović brothers had a somewhat different message.
“Hi, Nole. Best regards to the greatest champion. I mean, I feel a bit awkward addressing you like this via video message, but it’s a great honor for me to have the opportunity to wish you luck in the semifinal and later in the final. You really know best how to play the closing stages of tournaments like this. Good luck, all the best, we’re with you, and I want to take the opportunity to thank you for always being there for us water polo players when we need it most. Come on, Nole, all the best!”
Sava Ranđelović told Novak that his words meant a great deal to the “Dolphins” during their preparations for the big challenges in the Arena.
“Hi, Nole. First of all, I’d like to thank you for the message of support you sent us during the championship. Believe me, it meant a lot to us, as always. And I want to wish you luck in the semifinal. I know you’ll give it your all, as always, and that whatever happens you will always be our greatest athlete ever. Just be brave, go for the win. We have the same opponent in the semifinal, so we’re hoping for the same outcome. Best regards and good luck.”
Finally, Strahinja Rašović also had a short message:
“Hi, Nole. We’re cheering for you in the semifinal and whatever happens, we’re with you. Come on, master, go strong!”
Novak Đoković will play the Australian Open semifinal on Friday morning against Jannik Sinner on his path to a 25th Grand Slam title, his 11th in Australia.
