SCANDAL AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP: Malta Water Polo Players Suspected of Match-Fixing Against Montenegro!

The Montenegro national water polo team found itself at the center of a scandal following information that their opening match of the European Championship in Belgrade against Malta had been fixed.

On January 11, Montenegro defeated Malta 21–12, but that match has not been archived.

Namely, the team coached by Dejan Savić unexpectedly found itself in a “tricky situation” after information published by the portal Times of Malta.

As reported, several water polo players wearing the Malta cap are involved in an investigation related to betting.

They allegedly placed bets on the goal difference in the match against Montenegro.

An investigation has been launched on this matter, and more details will be known in the coming days.
