Dijana Hrka, the mother of the young man Stefan who died in the collapse of the canopy in Novi Sad, has been on a hunger strike for the sixth day, and this morning she invited the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to come personally and talk to her in front of everyone, but assesses that this will not happen, because “he doesn’t have the guts,” writes FoNet, and is reported by Danas.
Dijana Hrka told FoNet that today she “begins to stew the president.”
“Now I am addressing Vučić directly. This that is happening is on a personal basis, let him just come and tell me on what personal basis, so that I can tell him some things,” said Dijana Hrka, who says she feels well.
She, however, does not expect Vučić to come to her tent near the Parliament of Serbia.
“That will never happen. I’ve been calling him for a year, he doesn’t have the guts,” said Dijana Hrka.
It is currently quiet in front of the Parliament of Serbia, and police in riot gear are present nearby.
Traffic in Takovska street is functioning regularly in both lanes.
Citizens are coming to ask Dijana Hrka about her health and to offer her help. Some approached to offer her their apartment near the Parliament of Serbia for rest or a shower.
Dijana Hrka began her hunger strike on November 2, after a commemorative gathering a day earlier in Novi Sad, held on the anniversary of the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station and the death of 16 people.
Stefan Hrka’s mother demands the prosecution of those responsible for the tragedy, the release of all detained students, and the calling of snap parliamentary elections.
