We saw a much bigger fight in the second set, Rafa raised his level of play, some of the exchanges were reminiscent of the good old days, but the final result was again in Novak’s favor.
Nole missed a match point at 5:4, Nadal didn’t want to give up, he managed to stay in the match and reach the tie-break.
The audience wanted more tennis from these legends of the sport, but Nole disappointed them 15 minutes later.
He won the tie-break 7:5 and thus put an end to the two-decade rivalry!
Every true sports fan feels great sadness after this match, but also honor to have been a contemporary of two great champions and enjoyed their magic!
