Do you remember Radosav and the other characters from the legendary TV series “Đekna još nije umrla, a k’a će, ne znamo”? For the play “Montenegrin in Bed”, which has been making people laugh across the Balkans, Europe, and Australia for several years… they say it is the funniest thing to come out of Montenegro since the distant 1980s and the aforementioned “Đekna”.

Now the time has come for this play to make America laugh as well!

Actors Peđa Šuškavčević and Ana Selski somehow managed to find some time between scheduled engagements and set off on a long journey, so we will have the chance to host them in as many as six cities, from the East to the West Coast.

The tour begins in Washington on March 27, continues in New York on March 28, followed by Chicago on March 29. The following weekend, “Montenegrin in Bed” will be performed in Phoenix on April 3, Dallas on April 4, and the final show will take place in Los Angeles on April 5. All tickets can be found at THIS LINK!

The tour, organized by Global Stage Group and Serbian Times, is about to begin, and actor Peđa Šuškavčević, who is also the author of the play, is eagerly waiting to present it to audiences on this side of the ocean.

– “Montenegrin in Bed” has for a long time been the most attended comedy in the region. It is the best text I have written, and it took me a long time to come up with the title, which I thought about for days and nights. A well-known director recently told me: “When you came up with the title ‘Montenegrin in Bed’, God smiled upon you!” There is nothing better than a good comedy, and this one seems to be good, because it fills halls and makes people laugh to tears, and that is probably the essence, says Peđa, then adds:

A COMEDY THAT THE ENTIRE BALKANS IS LAUGHING AT: Actor Peđa Šuškavčević in “Montenegrin”

  • “Montenegrin in Bed” is my life story which, although authentic, reminds many people of some of their own life situations, so that is probably why the play is so popular.

He adds that this comedy breaks the boundaries that have been established in the Balkans in recent years and that people experience it the same way everywhere.

  • “Montenegrin” started, of course, in Montenegro, where we began filling theaters. Then it spilled over into Serbia, then Bosnia… which was all somehow understandable and expected. And then a miracle happened, so after the first guest performances in Croatia and Slovenia, we started receiving invitations to return, to perform again. Today, when you hear that it is the most-watched guest performance in Split in the last 30 years, with 25 performances in a relatively short period, then you realize that this is not a simple matter, that this is something more than a play, more than a performance, emphasizes Šuškavčević, who in the end invited all our people in Washington, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles to come and watch the play “Montenegrin in Bed” and see for themselves why there is always a ticket more being sought for it.
