Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that elections in Serbia will be held in the next year and a half, when the competent institutions make a decision on it, and added that he has not received any request, either in written or oral form, from the students currently blocking protests.
Arriving at the European Political Community Summit in Tirana, Vučić, responding to a journalist’s question about the blocking students’ claim that the deadline for calling elections, which they sent him, has expired and that they will radicalize protests from June 6, said that they can do what they want and warned that institutions will do their job according to the law.
“Just let them push, and the law and the institutions of the system will do their job,” Vučić said.
The President emphasized that he had not received any written request, nor any oral request.
“I haven’t received any request, from any competent institution, from anyone. It seems someone is not competent, but wants to be competent for something. And, they haven’t addressed the competent institution,” he stated.

Vučić says that as for radicalization, everything is going according to plan.
“They have nothing else, the fewer they are, the more and faster they fail, the greater the nervousness will be. And now we realize that it was all about politics all along,” Vučić said, reminding that he said back in December that all of this had nothing to do with student demands, but that these were all just tricks and that other things were hidden behind it, such as a colored revolution and politics.
As he says, they are incompetent in everything they do and do everything contrary to the law, avoiding the institutions that are competent.
“I am always ready to consider all demands; elections will be held in the next year and a half, at the moment when the competent institutions decide on it, not incompetent organizations, not those who have no prerogatives of power to decide on it,” Vučić said.
The fact that they are announcing the radicalization of citizen harassment, as Vučić says, speaks volumes about their goals and desires.
