“I believe that Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut possesses the professional and personal qualities, dedication and expertise to perform the function of Prime Minister and has convinced me that he can ensure the election of the government. The new Prime Minister will continue to implement programs aimed at raising the living standards of all citizens,” said Vučić in his explanation of the choice of the Prime Minister-designate.
Đuro Macut was born in Belgrade, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, where he completed a specialization in internal medicine and a sub-specialization in endocrinology and defended his doctoral dissertation, the President stated.
Macut specialized in reproductive medicine and biology at the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization. He is the Deputy Director of the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases of the University Clinical Center of Serbia.

The resignation of the Government was noted by the Serbian Parliament on March 19, a month and a half after Miloš Vučević resigned from the position of Prime Minister. This means that the election of the government must be completed by April 18, as the legal deadline of 30 days for its formation expires then.
The parliamentary debate on the new government should begin no later than April 14, and the deadline for voting is April 18, otherwise the President of Serbia is obliged to call early parliamentary elections.
