Young Serbian boxer Viktor Majstorović won a gold medal at the European Cadet Championship held in Čajetina, while Todor Lučić and Dragan Todorović took silver. In the 75kg category final, Majstorović secured gold after Azerbaijan’s Yusif Aghakishiyev was disqualified in the second round for unsportsmanlike conduct by his coach.
In the 54kg category, Lučić fought against Armenia’s Menu Ullikhanjan and lost 3:2 after a tough battle. In the 70kg category, Todorović lost to Azerbaijan’s Zirabdin Rustamliyem by stoppage in the first round of the final. The final matches were attended by the Minister of Sports in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Gajić, the President of the Serbian Boxing Federation, Nenad Borovčanin, and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the BSS, Adnan Bajramović.
Serbia won a total of 10 medals at the EUBC European Championship for cadets, seven in the boys’ competition (gold for Majstorović, silver for Lučić and Todorović, bronze for David Simić, Miloš Tijanić, Vukašin Dinić, Maksim Kovačević) and three in the girls’ competition (gold for Mia Topić, silver for Anabela Todorović, bronze for Anja Puđa).
The European Championship featured 20 national teams with 161 participants: 44 in the female competition and 117 in the male competition.
