Two younger children of the deceased priest Nenad Mitrić and his wife Nedeljka have been released from treatment in Zagreb and are in Brod with their uncle, who has also received temporary custody over them, reports Srpskainfo.
The eldest child is still in Zagreb, is stable, and is awaiting a surgical procedure at the hospital in Rebro, writes the portal Derventa Cafe.
As a reminder, for the three children of priest Nenad and his wife Nedeljka Mitrić, who perished in a traffic accident near Brod, approximately $320,000 has been collected from about 4,100 donors via the “Gofundme” platform.
“All collected funds will be directed specifically toward helping their children, for treatment, recovery, daily needs, education, and their future. This is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help them, just as their parents helped others,” states the announcement by the initiator Bojan Banović, parish priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Petka in Nashville, Tennessee.
Help from all sides
Many citizens of the region have also shown a readiness to help, assisting the little ones from the Mitrić family in various ways. In previous days, media also published news that an apartment will be gifted to each of the three children.
Accordingly, apartments were promised to the children by Milanko Balešević Biks from Derventa, SNSD president Milorad Dodik, and Nedeljko Elek, president of the Supervisory Board of the Jahorina Olympic Center.
As a reminder, Nenad and Nedeljka died on April 2 in a serious traffic accident that occurred on the Derventa – Brod main road in the town of Novo Selo.
At the time of the tragedy, their children were also in the vehicle.
