Nemanja Vidić, a celebrated footballer, had a message for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. After receiving the “Knight’s Call” award, Vidić said:
“I know that my fellow citizens in Kosovo are fighters, and that’s why we are where we are and why we have survived these difficult times.”
Then, in a statement to KoSSev, he added:
“Of course, the award I received is one of the most important awards in my life, and it’s not just related to my sports career, but to what I do outside of sports.”
He also described this honor as a great obligation:
“To promote all the values and values that this society and people who are free-minded and want this society to be better, in the future,” said Vidić.
In a statement for Nova.rs, Vidić also expressed support for the students in blockades across Serbia:
“I must say that I definitely support our students and highly educated youth who are supposed to lead this society tomorrow. The future should be based on such children. What kind of father would I be if I didn’t support the students,” the celebrated footballer said at the time.
