A 10-year-old boy from Serbia, who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Montenegro, has woken up from a coma and is expected to be transported from Montenegro to Serbia today aboard a Serbian Government aircraft, Niš Mayor Dragoslav Pavlović announced.

“Today I am overjoyed that he will be returning to our Serbia and that he will be able to reunite with his family,” the mayor told Euronews.

As a reminder, the serious traffic accident occurred on the Lipci–Grahovo main road, when a minibus traveling from the direction of Nikšić struck the rocky slope alongside the right side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The accident claimed the life of 21-year-old Jovana Stanković from Vrtište, near Niš, who was traveling with a group of pilgrims on a pilgrimage to the Ostrog Monastery.

Seventeen injured passengers were transported to the “Vaso Ćuković” Hospital in Risan.

The minibus was being driven by 68-year-old Lj. M. from Kotor.
