The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the law on non-governmental organizations is a step toward securing Srpska’s right to protect its institutions, society, and values from foreign influence.
Dodik explained that the law is based on practices from developed countries that promote transparency in the NGO sector, emphasizing that any organization receiving foreign funds will be required to report its finances to the relevant institutions, such as the Ministries of Justice and Finance.
- This is not an attack on the freedom of work, but a necessary protection of our society and Republika Srpska from foreign influences, which often operate through this sector – Dodik told Kurir.

He pointed out that global examples clearly show how the NGO sector can be misused. He also referenced Elon Musk’s team, which, after reviewing donations in the U.S. for several days, allegedly discovered shocking data showing that $1.5 million per year was being funneled to an organization in Serbia for LGBT propaganda.
- It is clear that even $100 billion could not destroy the family values of our people. This proves that we are dealing with a well-developed and corrupt system that is nothing more than a mechanism for political pressure on democratic institutions and the sovereignty of nations – Dodik stated.
In this context, Dodik emphasized, there is nothing wrong with regulating the work of NGOs.
- Just as every country regulates the quality of food or drinks it imports, the same applies to foreign influences through NGO funding. Republika Srpska has the right to protect its institutions and values from such forms of pressure, and this law is precisely a step in that direction – Dodik said.
When asked whether U.S. President Donald Trump will soon visit Serbia or perhaps Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik responded that Trump can and should visit Serbia.
- He has no reason to come to Bosnia and Herzegovina. But he can and should come to Serbia – Dodik concluded.
