A new bombshell has rocked the NBA as Michael Malone has been fired from the Denver Nuggets, and it is now known who will replace him and who will coach Nikola Jokić.
Namely, lead assistant coach David Adelman will take over the role of interim head coach of the Denver Nuggets.
This information was reported by ESPN journalist Shams Charania, who cited well-informed sources.
Stan Kroenke, a member of the Denver Nuggets management, spoke on behalf of the Colorado-based club and explained the decision to dismiss Michael Malone as head coach.
“It is with regret that we announce the dismissal of Michael Malone from the position of head coach. David Adelman will assume the role of head coach through the end of the 2024-25 season,” the statement began.

The Nuggets then added:
“This decision was not made lightly, it was carefully considered and made solely with the intention of giving our team the best chance in the fight for the 2025 championship ring.
Although the timing of this decision is difficult, considering that Coach Malone helped build the foundation of our championship team, it is a necessary step so that we can currently compete at the highest level. Championship-level standards and expectations remain in place for the current season, and looking ahead, we are excited to build on the foundation that Coach Malone laid during his record-setting decade in Denver.
There is no way to fully express our gratitude for his contributions since becoming part of our franchise in 2015. With the utmost respect, we want to thank Coach Malone for the most successful decade in Nuggets history, for setting the record in wins, and for helping Denver win our first championship,” the Denver statement concluded.
