At the international competition ICYS (International Conference of Young Scientists), held in India, the Serbian national team achieved notable success by winning several awards in several scientific fields.
Tara Koldžić, a third-grade student, won a gold medal in the field of biology for her work on neuroblastoma, as well as a special award in the poster category. In the same scientific discipline, Nikola Jović, a second-grade student of the specialized department for biology and chemistry, won a bronze medal and third place for a poster presentation.
Success was also recorded in the field of environmental protection, where Natalija Arsić, a second-grade student, was awarded a bronze medal and third place in the poster category. Her research focused on the influence of artificial fertilizers on the population growth of the algae Tetradesmus obligus under controlled conditions.
Helena Grujić also brought recognition to the team, winning a special award in the field of physics, along with second place in the poster category.
ICYS is a world scientific conference where high school students present their original research papers before an international expert jury.
