The national team of Serbia qualified for the quarter-finals after an unprecedented comeback against Greece – we were losing 2:0 right at the start, and then the “Eagles” shifted into fifth gear, scored four goals and celebrated with a final score of 4:2.
We had the opportunity to see a great match, as Serbia made a comeback that will be talked about. The Greeks took a 1:0 lead already in the third minute, when Toska scored, only for Drosis to double the advantage in the 26th minute and it was 2:0.
The worst premonitions started there, but everything turned around. Only two minutes later, Veselinović scored for 2:1, it was the 28th minute.
Just four minutes after that, Žarko Matić also scored a goal, it was the 32nd minute when he scored for 2:2. We were back to square one, and that is where the quality of our selection prevailed.
After that, the nets were still for 10 minutes, and Popović scored a goal in the 42nd minute for 3:2, only for Vujović to score a goal just four minutes later for the final 4:2.
A duel with Romania awaits our national team in the quarter-finals, which celebrated with a 7:0 win against Austria.
