Former President Donald Trump visited a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania yesterday. He worked at the takeout counter and fryer as part of his campaign in this crucial state for votes. Trump continued to assert that Vice President Kamala Harris lied about working at McDonald’s during her studies.
Trump visited the McDonald’s in Fisterville-Trevose, northeast of Philadelphia, before a planned rally in Lancaster later that day.
This visit to McDonald’s was partially a reaction to Harris’s claim that she worked for the company. This is something Trump has insisted on for the past few weeks, claiming it is a lie. He believes Harris has not provided evidence that she worked there, although Trump’s team has also not presented evidence against her claim.

When asked why Trump decided to visit McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, his campaign spokesperson, Stephen Cheng, told Forbes that he did it “because the people of Pennsylvania matter, and jobs matter, something Kamala Harris refuses to acknowledge.”
Cheng also told Forbes that Harris is a “liar and fraud” and that she has not provided “evidence that she worked at McDonald’s because she actually didn’t work there.”

Forbes reached out to Kamala Harris’s campaign for a comment regarding Trump’s visit.
“I have now worked 15 minutes more than Kamala… she has never worked here,” former President Donald Trump said at the McDonald’s counter on Sunday.
Harris first mentioned a summer job at the fast-food chain in 2019 during her initial campaign. The New York Times reported at the time that she joined a McDonald’s workers’ strike in Las Vegas, supporting a $15 minimum wage.
“If we want the golden arches to be a symbol of the best that America offers, those arches are falling,” Harris reportedly said.
Harris also mentioned her work at this company during this year’s elections, including an interview with MSNBC. Her campaign told the Times that she worked at a restaurant on Central Avenue in Alameda, California. This was during the summer of 1983 after her first year at Howard University.
They stated that she worked in several positions at the restaurant, including at the fryer. However, they did not provide much additional information. Her campaign did not supply the Times with friends or family members to confirm this claim. But they identified a teenage friend who said she “remembers Harris working at McDonald’s at that time.” She added that Kamala Harris’s mother mentioned the summer job.
Allegations that Harris lied about working at McDonald’s began circulating after the conservative media outlet Washington Free Beacon published an article in August. They pointed out that McDonald’s was not listed in the job application or biography she submitted after college. Although that job may not have been relevant for the legal clerk position she applied for, the article acknowledged that it is possible Harris worked at McDonald’s. However, it pointed out that “the absence of that detail in public records and the unwillingness of her campaign to provide additional information raise questions about what has become a key narrative.”

Derek Giacomantonio, the owner and operator of the McDonald’s Trump visited, stated in a press release that he accepted Trump’s request to visit his restaurant. He did this so the former president could see “the transformative work experience that one in eight Americans has—working at McDonald’s.” Giacomantonio added, “As a small, independent business owner, the core value of my organization is to proudly open our doors to everyone who visits the Fisterville community.”
Trump has been intensively campaigning in Pennsylvania, a crucial state for the November elections. After working at McDonald’s, Trump planned to attend a rally in Lancaster and then a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
On Saturday, Trump visited Latrobe, where he drew attention for comments about the late golfer Arnold Palmer’s genitals. Harris was also in Pennsylvania last week for several visits. She will return to the state today to hold an event in Chester County alongside Liz Cheney.
