Russia has announced that it cannot accept the current peace proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine and has instead presented a new set of demands.
The Kremlin stated that it carefully considered the U.S. proposals for ending the war in Ukraine but “cannot accept them,” as reported by the Daily Mail.
Moscow insists that the United States must address what Russia considers the root causes of the conflict, according to statements from a Russian diplomat relayed by state media.
“We are seriously reviewing the models and solutions proposed by the Americans, but we cannot accept everything in its current form,” said Sergey Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, in an interview with International Affairs magazine.
“As far as we can see, the proposals currently do not accommodate our main demand, which is to resolve the issues related to the root causes of this conflict,” Ryabkov added.
“That is completely absent, and this must be addressed,” he continued.
