The Culinary Federation of Serbia shone at the prestigious “Global Chefs Challenge Semi-Finals & Grand Prix” competition in Rimini, winning four medals in as many categories. This fantastic result once again confirms the top level of skill, dedication and talent of Serbian culinary professionals and students, who proudly represented our country.

The greatest success was achieved by Milan Luković, Pastry Chef at the Sava Center, who, with the help of his assistant Matea Taubner, a master’s student at the Higher Hotel School, won a gold medal in the pastry category. This triumph secured him a place in the grand final in Wales, where he will defend the colors of Southern Europe. In addition, Milan took second place in the European Grand Prix, right behind Norway.

In the “Global Vegan” category, KFS was represented by students of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, Milana Čugalj and her assistant Mihailo Malbaša, who showed exceptional creativity and skills in combining plant-based foods while achieving the necessary nutrients, winning a bronze medal. An equally valuable award went to the team consisting of chef Branislav Kockarović and Đura Tintor, who also won a bronze medal in the “Global Chefs Challenge” category.

The brilliant performance was rounded off by the young talent Strahinja Josimov, a first-year gastronomy student at the Higher Hotel School, who won a bronze medal in the “Young Chef” category, confirming that the Serbian culinary scene has a bright future.

This triumph represents a significant step towards further affirmation of Serbian gastronomy and is proof that KFS continues to grow and set high standards in the international arena.
