Novak Djokovic is playing in Doha! After the Australian Open, there were questions about how long the Serbian tennis star’s recovery would take, but less than a month later, Novak is returning to the court.
With great optimism, Djokovic announced his trip to Doha, hoping to deliver performances similar to those in Australia before his injury.
“There is no more muscle tear, the injury is almost 100% healed, and I am ready to get back to winning. My medical team has given me the green light to train and prepare. The tournament in Doha is scheduled for seven days from now, so I’m sticking to the plan. Thank God, I managed to recover quickly. I have had more injuries recently than in the first 15 years of my career. That probably comes with age, but my body is still holding up, and the fire inside me is still burning, along with my desire for new achievements. That’s why I hope for success both next week in Doha and throughout the season,” Djokovic told Podgorica’s Vijesti.
The Serbian tennis player is also thinking about his 100th career title and 25th Grand Slam trophy.

“I hope that my 100th title can come in Doha—I’ve been chasing it for a while now, since October last year, but we’ll see, it will come when it’s meant to. Thank God, I know it will happen, we’ll just see when and where. As for the Grand Slam, that’s a bigger challenge, a tougher achievement, but I believe I can do it. If I didn’t believe I could still compete at the highest level against the best players in the world, I wouldn’t keep playing. I think I proved with my win against Alcaraz at the Australian Open that I can still contend for the biggest trophies,” said Djokovic.
