Nemanja Vidić continues to support the fight against the current government, and he has now spoken out about the situation in Užice.
In Užice, citizens are engaged in a fierce struggle with the police at barricades, which they have breached on several occasions, and for now, they are the best organized in all of Serbia.
They have shown that there is no giving up and that the fight for freedom has no price in the struggle against Aleksandar Vučić’s regime. They have also received support from Nemanja Vidić, the legendary footballer native to Užice.
Vidić posted a video of the citizens of his hometown with a message that unequivocally shows what one of the best defenders in Premier League history is fighting for.
“Unity and dignity – from the youngest to the oldest – all together for the same thing, a better society for all of us. Proud of my Užice.”

Vidić With Students From The Beginning
“We should honor them; we have shifted great responsibility onto them, not just them, but also professors and even parents. They are in an unenviable situation, risking losing a year, which is a huge sacrifice for the younger generations who should lead the country. We must do everything to prevent that from happening,” Vidić once said.
And to prove it wasn’t just words, Vidić demonstrated his support by attending the protests on March 15th.
He was also a guest at FON (Faculty of Organizational Sciences) where he received a big applause in February.

“I should be clapping for you, not you for me, here’s a big round of applause for you,” Vidić charmingly said at the very beginning.
