The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, said at the session of the UN General Assembly that everyone in that international organization must respect the Dayton Agreement and that all nations have their representative at all levels.
Milanović said that all three constituent peoples in BiH must have the right to legitimately elected representatives, as reported by Hrvatska radio televizija.
“We stand against the undermining of peace in BiH. We seek full recognition of the constituent composition of the three peoples. All in the UN must respect the Dayton Agreement and the right for all nations to have their representative at all levels,” Milanović emphasized.
He pointed out that this is a prerequisite for the European progress of BiH.
“Lasting peace cannot be imposed, it is built, and if it is to be sustainable it must include respect for human rights,” said the President of Croatia.
Milanović recalled that the United Nations is the “main world institution” for Croatia, which had a key role in the process of “gaining independence and preserving territorial integrity.”
