Three black-and-white players Dwayne Washington, Dylan Osetkowski and Shake Milton used the break due to the FIBA window to visit the magnificent city in the UAE with their better halves and families, but the sudden escalation of the political situation and the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran has put them in a very dangerous and uncertain position.

Iran responded fiercely with attacks on the territory of the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai. Terrifying footage of explosions from this city is spreading on social networks, yesterday the airport was once again targeted, it has been completely closed and thousands of people have been left stranded and must find an alternative way to reach safe territory.

Among them are the aforementioned three Partizan basketball players, Dwayne Washington even brought his family, his wife, children, and his father is also there.

The only way of evacuation is to travel by land to a city where the airport is functioning. As we learn, their plan was to go further south to Oman in order to try to catch one of the flights. However, in the meantime the situation has become more complicated, as Iran also attacked targets in that country with drones. Thus, the airport in Oman’s capital Muscat has also been temporarily closed.

It remains to be seen how the security and political developments in the Middle East will unfold, but there is no doubt that the escalation of the conflict is affecting the organization of sports competitions, both in Israel and in the countries of the Persian Gulf. In that case, sports institutions and clubs would have to consider alternative solutions in order for competitions to continue without disruption.
