Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic has advanced to the second round of Wimbledon, defeating American Alex Michelsen in five sets with a score of 3-2 (6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(10)).

Kecmanovic, the world No. 49, defeated the ATP No. 32 after three hours and 16 minutes of play.

The Serb gained an early advantage in the first set with breaks in the first and third games.

Breaks were absent until the eighth game of the second set, when Michelsen broke Kecmanovic’s serve. A confident hold in the following game leveled the match at 1-1 in sets.

In the third set, the Serbian player broke in the eighth game to take a 5-3 lead and then served out the set in the next game, converting his first set point to regain the advantage.

Michelsen drew level again by breaking in the fourth game of the fourth set.

The decisive fifth set saw no breaks, with the winner determined by a tie-break. Kecmanovic secured mini-breaks on the sixth, seventh, and fifteenth points to claim a 10-6 victory and a spot in the second round.

In the second round, Kecmanovic will face the winner of the match between De Jong and Eubanks.
