Photos of a downed American plane in Iran, Tehran claims it shot down an F-35, while images indicate they are the remains of an F-15E Strike Eagle
Photos have appeared on the internet for which some social media accounts claim depict parts of an American stealth fighter jet F-35, which Iran claims was shot down in the central part of the country, but by all accounts this is not true.

Reuters reported this morning, citing the Iranian news agency Mehr, that an F-35 was shot down and that Tehran claims it is “unlikely” that the pilot survived.
Sky News states that, if confirmed, this would be the second time Iran has hit an American F-35 fighter, after one such aircraft had to make an emergency landing almost two weeks ago due to suspicion that it was under enemy fire.
🚫 CLAIM: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it downed an "enemy" fighter jet over Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM), responsible for the Middle East, has still not commented on these claims.
However, claims have also appeared on the X social network that photos of the aircraft’s remains clearly indicate that it is an American F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet, and not an F-35, which is much more expensive and, depending on the model, costs from 82.5 to 109 million dollars.
