Several thousand students and citizens gathered tonight in front of RTS, after the presenter of the national television called the students a mob. “Therefore, tonight we are blocking the RTS building. Without violence, without intrusion,” the students announced.
But violence did occur when the Gendarmerie intervened. In that intervention, a plainclothes policeman, Lazar Baćić, was also injured.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić posted a picture with the policeman, whom he said was injured in front of the RTS building, claiming that the Ministry of Internal Affairs member was “hit with brass knuckles.”

Vučić pointed out that the policeman was attacked “by Bolshevik plenarists.”
“He suffered severe bodily injuries. Horrific. They hit him with brass knuckles. Thugs think they are allowed to do anything. They are not. They will be held accountable for every act of violence they committed,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.
However, a video then appeared on social networks showing that policeman Baćić was hit in the eye with a baton by a member of the Gendarmerie.
The video, which was posted on Twitter, shows that Baćić, who was initially moving along with the students, at one point “enters” a column of uniformed policemen who were walking quickly, and then, it seems, he received the blow that injured him, most likely with a baton. Only a few seconds later, he is seen leaving that place, going in the opposite direction, with an injured eye.
Meanwhile, the protest continued, and as the students announced, it will last 22 hours.
