The humanitarian organization “Serbian Solidarity” has appealed to citizens to donate money for the treatment of the founder of that organization, Branko Antić, who has been fighting a serious illness for years. Antić is known to the general public for transporting health workers from home to work for free during the coronavirus pandemic.
Branko Antić, the founder of the Humanitarian Organization “Serbian Solidarity”, has been fighting cancer for more than three years, and in the last few months, a fight for life and survival.
Although he founded his humanitarian organization ten years ago, his humanitarian work in Kosovo and Metohija and beyond has lasted even longer than that, the statement said.
As stated, he helped many, especially our little guardians of Kosovo and Metohija, whom he does not forget even today, providing them with help and support from his hospital bed.
He is known to the general public for transporting health workers from home to work for free during the coronavirus pandemic while working as a taxi driver, when he himself contracted a more severe form of covid.
Serbian Solidarity points out that Branko has not been able to work for a long time and that his health condition is deteriorating, which is why he has already had several interventions and alternately stays at the Department of the Institute of Oncology and Radiology and the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery in Belgrade.
Given the costs of treatment, he is in a difficult financial situation. He needs to set aside up to 50,000 dinars a month for medicines and supplements, which is a big challenge since he is on sick leave and his monthly income of 45,000 dinars does not cover that cost.
It is added that an aggravating circumstance is that he is also in the process of obtaining a disability pension.
Serbian Solidarity emphasizes that Antić and the members of his humanitarian organization have raised 1,350,000 euros for our people in Kosovo and Metohija in ten years, but that many call him a “millionaire without a roof” because he lives as a subtenant.
The statement says that every month he has to find a way to pay the rent, which amounts to 350 euros, and bills of 150 euros for heating and other utilities, and points out that he was often forced to move, which he will have to do this winter as well due to the inaccessible access in relation to the disease.
It is added that he sent special financial aid and support when needed to our people from Kosovo and Metohija, Republika Srpska and Montenegro, and that he is immensely grateful for that.
