Novak Djokovic, the best tennis player ever, was once again „at home“ in Visoko, in his favorite Bosnian Pyramid District, from March 30 to April 1, and then he announced a new tennis tournament and spoke about the match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy.
Novak Djokovic spoke in an interview with Semir Osmanagić, the author and researcher who is his host every time the Serb decides to visit the Bosnian pyramids.
Novak Djokovic organized a tennis tournament in 2022, and now he has announced a new one in the same place.
-When I returned, after three years, it is clear to me that I am coming more often. I would like, personally, for us to organize something similar to that tournament from 2022. I think that was a great success; perhaps that can become a kind of annual tradition in the summer months, when it is most convenient for people. Because of the climate and the availability of time for them to show up and follow it. It should be for humanitarian purposes. Let that be the goal.
He did not want to say when, but such a tournament will certainly be held.
-I always make myself available for such manifestations. There isn’t much time, while I am still actively playing tennis, but for things like this, it is always found. We can announce, not confirm when, but that it will happen in the near future.
Novak Djokovic was a guest in Zenica, where he attended the match of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which managed to knock out Italy on penalties and thus go to the World Cup.
-A spectacle, a historical success. I was happy they won, as well as being able to attend it because those are some historical, sporting moments that happen once, twice, or three times in history during our lifetimes. An honor and a privilege. The people were in ecstasy; it was celebrated in Sarajevo, I saw, deep into the night. Absolutely deserved, to knock out Italy, a sporting and football giant, on penalties with all that drama that accompanied it.
