On January 30, 2025, the General Consulate of Serbia in New York hosted the promotion of the book Why So Serious, the biography of NBA star Nikola Jokić, written by renowned sports journalist Mike Singer.
Nikola Jokić, known for his humility and exceptional basketball skills, has won the hearts of basketball fans worldwide, and Why So Serious offers a detailed insight into his unique life story.
As a special guest, Mike Singer spoke eloquently and vividly about the process of writing the book and the inspirational journey of Nikola Jokić, from his hometown of Sombor to the top of the NBA league.

Jokić’s Success Strengthens Serbian Sports Legacy
Before the book promotion, General Consul Vladimir Božović delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of basketball in Serbia and the impact of Jokić’s success on his homeland. He emphasized that Jokić’s achievements are a continuation of Serbia’s rich sports tradition, which continues to inspire new generations and further solidify Serbia’s reputation on the global sports stage.
