The plane carrying U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom after a crack was discovered on the windshield, the Pentagon announced.
The flight tracking portal “Flightradar24” reported earlier that Hegseth’s plane had been diverted to the United Kingdom due to an “emergency situation.”

The Pentagon’s chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, posted on the X platform that the Secretary of Defense’s aircraft had to make an unscheduled landing because of a crack in the windshield.
“The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures, and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, are safe,” Parnell stated.
Hegseth was returning to Washington from Belgium, where he attended a meeting of NATO defense ministers.

Hegseth speaks out
After the incident with the plane, Secretary Pete Hegseth also made a statement.
“Everything is fine. Thank God,” he wrote on X.
