Zurab Datunashvili, a wrestler from Georgia who competed for Serbia, has been suspended for violating doping rules.

As stated on the website of the World Wrestling Federation, Datunashvili was found guilty of violating doping rules on November 26.

He allegedly influenced the urine control sample on January 6, 2022, and interfered with the control process, for which he was initially suspended for five years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, while his results from May 2021 to April 2023 were initially deleted.

Datunashvili has appealed this decision, after which it will be known whether he will retain his medals or not.

If found guilty, Datunashvili will lose the bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympic Games, as well as two world golds – from Oslo in 2021 and Belgrade a year later.
