Thierry Mariani, a French member of the European Parliament, pointed out the absurdity that the “American colony” of Kosovo expects and receives subsidies from the EU while abolishing tariffs on the import of goods from the USA.
“Kosovo introduces 0 percent tariffs on American products. Meanwhile, it continues to seek and receive subsidies from the EU. The acceptance of this American ‘colony’ (which is actually Serbian territory) into the EU would be incomprehensible,” Mariani wrote on X, reacting to the decision of the government of the so-called Kosovo to abolish the 10 percent tariff on American products.
“Another very important decision we are making today is the abolition of the customs tariff with the USA. From now on, all products originating from the USA will have a zero percent tariff when entering our country. ‘Kosovo’ welcomes American products on its market and we firmly believe that this will affect the increase in trade and investment,” Albin Kurti said at the government session, as reported by “Kosovo online”.
