A month has passed since the accident at the Novi Sad Railway Station, when 15 people were killed and two were injured in the collapse of a canopy.
To mark this occasion, a protest march was held from the Railway Station to Liberty Square. Those gathered stopped 15 times on the way to the City Hall and observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the deceased. The entire square in front of the City Hall was painted red.
At the protest, which began at 11:52 at the Railway Station, it was demanded that all secret documents be opened and that the mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić, and the Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, be dismissed, N1 reports.
Activist Mila Pajić from the organization “SviĆe” declared the end of the gathering, congratulated everyone on their behavior, on the peaceful and dignified march.
She invited everyone to come tomorrow and support the students of Jova Jovanović Zmaj High School after the attacks they suffered from the tabloids.
Pajić also called on citizens to support the opposition councilors on Tuesday, as the agenda of the Novi Sad City Assembly may include a request for the removal of the mayor, which was submitted by those councilors.
