Last night in Stara Pazova, the house of the farmer Vlada Višić, a member of the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculture, was attacked. Unknown attackers sprayed the facade and gate with red paint, and then fled in a car with Belgrade license plates.
Last night, around 1:10 a.m., three unknown attackers carried out an attack on the property of Vlada Višić, a farmer from Stara Pazova and an active member of the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculture. The facade of his house and the entrance gate were sprayed with red paint, after which the attackers fled in a gray Volkswagen Polo with Belgrade license plates.
Višić heard the noise and tried to stop the attackers, but they escaped at high speed. The police soon arrived at the scene, and the public prosecutor was also informed about everything, who stated that it was a criminal offense under Article 212 of the Criminal Code – damage and destruction of another’s property. A private lawsuit follows.
Locals and his fellow farmers claim that this attack is not accidental. According to them, it is a continuation of political pressure and intimidation of dissidents, behind which the local regime in Stara Pazova stands. “In this way, they are sending a message to everyone who disagrees with them – but they cannot scare us,” the farmers say.
We remind you that at the end of July, a similar situation occurred in Stara Pazova, when the premises of the Movement for a Healthy Pazova, the car of a councilor of the Podunavlje Movement, the house of an activist and the property of another farmer were sprayed with red paint. The perpetrators have not yet been discovered.
The attack on Višić happened after his colleagues were detained on Tuesday, due to an alleged incident at a protest in front of the Provincial Government in Novi Sad, when there was a conflict with the provocateur Aleksandar Šulc. They were placed under house arrest for 90 days, which caused outrage and revolt in the agricultural community.
“First they arrest our colleagues, now they are attacking our houses. It is clear that the regime is trying to intimidate us, to disunite and weaken us. But we will not retreat – we continue the fight for the survival of agriculture and the dignity of the peasant. And to support the students and youth of this country,” says the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculture.
