The Office of the Public Prosecutor and the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) in the Dominican Republic today issued a warrant for four men connected to a recently dismantled money laundering and drug trafficking network, among whom is a certain Marko Popović, known as the Serbian (El Serbio), who is stated to be dangerous.
The authorities identified the fugitives as the Serbian Marko Popović and the Dominicans Gregorio Arturo Calzada Paredes, José Francisco Sabino Castillo, and Francisco Colón Natera.
The Office of the Public Prosecutor called on citizens, if they have any information about these people, to contact the authorities, assuring them that their anonymity will be preserved, writes El Nacional.
The photograph of Marko Popović that was published states that he is dangerous and armed.
The four men, as is suspected, are part of a criminal group whose members have already been arrested, and whose monitoring resulted in the seizure of 200 packages of cocaine in the port of Caucedo on November 7.
16 people were detained in the action, and as many as 40 prosecutors and 312 DNCD agents participated in the operation.
