Kristina N. (25) and Kevin D. (23), both allegedly of Serbian origin, are suspected of kidnapping their prematurely born child from a hospital in France a few days ago. The baby boy, Santiago, who was born prematurely 20 days ago and has yet to be found, and the police are intensively searching for his parents who, it is suspected, kidnapped him from the hospital on the night between Monday and Tuesday. Doctors say that the chances of the baby surviving outside the hospital are getting smaller and smaller with each passing hour.
The police have allegedly found evidence that the parents fled to Belgium with little Santiago, based on footage from surveillance cameras that captured the “Audi” that the parents allegedly used to leave France. The French police say they are cooperating with European and Belgian authorities, and an international arrest warrant has been issued for the child in Belgium.
Fear that the child could die
There are fears that little Santiago could die, as he is a premature baby who needs constant medical care. According to information published by BFMTV, Santiago could not suckle or bottle-feed while he was in the hospital. Also, as he is a premature baby, he is at risk of developing various infections.

The media writes that the suspect Kevin was last seen in dark jeans, a white T-shirt, a thin denim jacket, and a black coat, while Kristina was wearing a white sweater, a light blue vest, and a green skirt.
“The couple is believed to have gone to Belgium after taking the child out of the hospital in the middle of the night,” the prosecutor’s office announced. They are both reportedly known to the police, the father for the crime of violence, and the mother for drug use.
Kidnapped the child out of fear of social services According to a source from “Le Parisien”, it is suspected that Kevin and Kristina kidnapped the child out of fear that social services could take the child away from them. However, no proceedings were initiated before the kidnapping, although it was considered.
However, after the kidnapping, if the child is found alive, the authorities will take custody of the child from the parents, who are of Serbian origin. If found, Kristina N. (25) and Kevin D. (23) risk being prosecuted for kidnapping a minor under the age of 15 by an organized gang. After their escape on Monday, five relatives of the couple, also of Serbian origin, aged between 16 and 29, were arrested in Livry-Gargan, reports “Le Parisien”. It is believed that at least two of them played a key role in the kidnapping of little Santiago.
