Milorad Dodik, whose term as President of Republika Srpska (RS) has officially ended according to a final decision by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC), will have his diplomatic passport confiscated.
The Sarajevo portal Klix (Klix.ba) published a document from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina addressed to the Office of the President of RS, stating that Dodik has a 15-day deadline to return the diplomatic passport.
“Given that the CEC of BiH’s decision of August 6 established the termination of Milorad Dodik’s term, we hereby call on the named person to return the diplomatic passport,” the MFA BiH’s letter states.
If Dodik does not return the diplomatic passport within the given period, the MFA of BiH will inform the Border Police of BiH and the diplomatic-consular network of BiH that his passport has been invalidated.
The Appellate Panel of the Court of BiH yesterday rejected Dodik’s appeal against the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC), which stripped him of his mandate as President of RS after a final verdict of one year in prison and a six-year ban on holding public office for failing to implement the High Representative’s decision.
Following the decision of the Appellate Panel of the Court of BiH, Dodik is officially no longer in the position of President of RS.
