DODIK AFTER VIŠKOVIĆ’S RESIGNATION: It is time for a government of national unity, referendum at the end of September!

The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, thanked the former Prime Minister Radovan Višković, who resigned today, for his cooperation and stated that the culmination of the West’s hybrid war against the Republika Srpska is on the scene and that it is therefore necessary to overcome the situation by assembling a government of national unity.

“The goal is to reach a new coalition government. We know that the opposition rejects something like this and that is their problem. We want to make the Government of Srpska wider and this is a good opportunity,” Dodik said at a press conference in Banja Luka, reports Srna.

Dodik said that this is one of the key moments and that he is grateful to Radovan Višković for the cooperation they had.

“Višković undoubtedly marked a period and I am grateful. Unlike many expectations, we did not have any affair,” Dodik pointed out, RTRS reported.

Dodik stated that they want the Government of Srpska to get a new democratic legitimacy.

“So that it can respond to the challenges we are currently expecting. This Government has done everything to make economic life function in almost impossible circumstances,” said Dodik.

The President of the RS said that the Government of Srpska was unique and part of the political structure of the government in the Republika Srpska.

“The government provided answers and was brave. The government led by Radovan Višković did not leave a single question unanswered in accordance with the moment we were in,” Dodik said.

Dodik also announced that a referendum will be held at the end of September.

“We are looking for respect and freedom, which will be done through a referendum. That is our message – return us to the Dayton Peace Agreement. We will give our opinion in a referendum that will be held at the end of September,” Dodik said, Radio Free Europe reported.

He stated that Radovan Višković will perform the function of director of the Highways of the Republika Srpska.

Radovan Višković, the former Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, resigned and confirmed this at a press conference at the Palace of the Republic and stated that a new Government of the Republika Srpska is being elected.

Višković was the prime minister in his second term, and the second term was also limited to two years.

He was in the position of President of the Government of the Republika Srpska since 2018.
