An extraordinary situation occurred in front of “Pavle Savic” Elementary School, as students’ parents had previously gathered in front of the school building, demanding that the newly appointed director, an SNS official, leave his position. According to Nova.rs, the parents entered the school, interrupted the Teachers’ Council session, while the director was locked in the women’s toilet the entire time. He called the police who just escorted him out.
The gathering in front of “Pavle Savic” Elementary School in Mirijevo, announced by the students’ parents, began exactly at 1 p.m.
The parents, as they told Nova.rs, after hearing that the school got a new director who is, by the way, an SNS official, immediately announced that they would not send their children to classes until he leaves.
Because of this, they gathered in front of the school to let him know with whistles and booing that he is not welcome.
As the parents informed us, a part of them entered the school and interrupted the Teachers’ Council session, while another part of them entered the director’s office.
At that point, the director rushed out and locked himself in the women’s toilet. He called the police who soon arrived.
“The director ran into the women’s bathroom, he called the police because he was scared. We are furious, they tried to hold a Council session on the sly, despite this situation. All of this is creepy, this is an occupation, they want to steal our school. Today, 95 percent of students did not come to school, only a few teachers were holding classes, although not many children came to them either. We want either our Krstic or the deputy who has been in the school for a very long time. The entire staff of 240 employees is behind Krstic,” the parents say.
They state that they will not send their children to school until further notice, until director Tasic leaves the school.
As a reminder, the Belgrade “Pavle Savic” Elementary School in Mirijevo got an acting director, and not just anyone. The Minister of Education, Dejan Vuk Stankovic, appointed Nenad Tasic to this position, a professor of mathematics and computer science from the “20. oktobar” school in Belgrade.
Both the students’ parents and teachers are disappointed with this decision by Stankovic, despite their joint request and petition for someone from the school’s collective to be in that position. By the way, Tasic is a prominent member of the Serbian Progressive Party, often seen at the party’s rallies, and while he was working at a school in Bujanovac, he even took the school’s furnace operator to an SNS rally, and as the parents claimed, the children were freezing.
